SOME KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS EVERYONE MUST CREATE
- Fed up with reaching for the mouse or repeatedly performing a series of key presses. Here we will explain how to create your own keyboard shortcuts and lists those you need to use.
1. LOAD ANY PROGRAM
- To create a keyboard shortcut so that you are able to load any program in windows, right-click its desktop icon, select properties, then click the Shortcut tab and then type your own combination.
2. OPEN ANY WEBSITE
- In windows this is the shortcut that everyone should create in chrome, for that, load your selected website, then click Chrome’s menu button(the vertical dots),more tools, ‘create shortcut’, then OK. Right-Click the new icon on your desktop, then enter your selected shortcut keys.
3. SHUT DOWN YOUR PC
- Right-Click in an empty section of your desktop, select new, then shortcut. Then type” C:WindowsSystem32shutdown.exe”, then click next and rename as per your wish. Finally, right-click the shortcut to assign a key.
4. CUSTOMIZE YOUR PC SHUTDOWN
- The shutdown command above can be customized too, letting you chose precisely, how your computer switches off.
- For example, typing ‘C:WindowsSystem32shutdown.exe/f” will force any open programs to close, while adding /p removes the shutdown warning message and timer. You can even create a shortcut that abort the shutdown process by using /a instead of /f.
5. CREATE SHORTCUTS IN WORDS
- In Office 2007 and later, click file, then Customize, the click the customize button next to Keyboard Shortcuts. In the command list on the right, find the action you want to create a shortcut for.
- Finally, create your keyboard shortcut in the ‘Press new shortcut key’ section.
- Word also helps you to keep track of all the shortcuts you’ve created. To print them, press Ctrl+P in Word to open the Print window .Click the first option in settings section, select key Assignments, and then click print.
6. PASTE PLAIN TEXT IN
- For a quick way to paste unformatted text, go to words KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS section. In categories select All Commands, then in commands select Pastetextonly.
7. TAKE QUICK SCREENSHOTS
- Windows+S will take a screenshot and save it your screenshot folder, but you can create a keyboard shortcut to quickly load the Snipping Tool instead. Right-click on your desktop, select new, then shortcut. In the Location box type snipping tool (one word) .Click next, give the shortcut a name, then right-click the new icon on your desktop and apply a keyboard shortcut to it as above.
8. OPEN YOUR MOST RECENT WORD DOC
- To set up this shortcut, right-click the word icon, open its properties box and create your keyboard shortcut (as Tip1). Next, add /mfile1to the end of the filename in the target field, so that it reads ‘…/winword.exe”/mfile1’. Pressing your chosen key combination will now open the WORD DOCUMENT you most recently worked on.
9.INSERT ROWS IN CALC
- Insert new rows in LibreOffice Calc by clicking tools,customize,then selecting the keyboards tab. Highlight the shortcut key(s) you want to use in the shortcut keys section, then type insert rows in the function search box, select insert rows Above, and click the modify button.
