WHAT IS ANDROID STUDIO?
- Android Studio is an official software which was developed for Google’s Android operating system. All the application which you use or you have seen on Google Play Store is been developed with the help of Android Studio. It is also the official Integrated Development Environment aka IDE for Google’s OS which was built on JetBrains, IntelliJ IDEA software which was specially designed for Android Development. It can be used by Windows users, Mac OS users as well as Linux Users.
- In the year 2013 Google on its Annual Developer meet announced the Android Studio and the exact date of announcement is 16 May 2013, and it was started from version 0.1 in May 2013 then afterward beta version was also introduced in June 2014. The first stable version of Android Studio was released in December 2014 and the current stable version of Android Studio is 3.2.1 which was released in October 2018.
FOR WHAT PURPOSE ANDROID STUDIO IS USED FOR?
- Android Studio is a tool which is exclusively used for developing Android Applications and the application developed by Android Studio is only accessible for Android Platforms. Android Studio provides some of the great features as well as the tools for developing Android Applications and one can very easily code in the Android Studio and can create many different applications with a great user interface. Also, you can publish the applications made by Android Studio on Google Play Store. Android Studio is equipped with each and every tool which is required for developing an Android Application. So if any of you wants to develop Applications for Android Platform then You can do it by using Android Studio.

- Android Studio can be used on the following platforms;
a) Windows OS
b) Mac OS
c) Linux OS
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS FOR ANDROID STUDIO
- Many of you have this doubt that whether Android Studio will work on my PC or not so don’t worry about it because in this para all your doubts will be cleared as all the system requirements will be given.
a) Windows Requirement
1. For Windows 7, 8 and 10 (32bit or 64bit)
2. Minimum RAM which is required for Android Studio is 3GB and the recommended RAM for Android Studio is 8GB and additional 1GB for the Android Emulator.
3. Minimum 2GB of disk space should be available.
4. And the recommended disk space for Android Studio is 4GB in which 500MB is for IDE and 1.5GB is for Android SDK and Emulator System Image.
5. The minimum Screen Resolution for Android Studio is 1280×800.
b) Mac OS Requirement
1. For Mac OS X 10.10 up to 10.13
2. Minimum RAM which is required for Android Studio is 3GB and the recommended RAM for Android Studio is 8GB and additional 1GB for the Android Emulator.
3. Minimum 2GB of disk space should be available.
4. And the recommended disk space for Android Studio is 4GB in which 500MB is for IDE and 1.5GB is for Android SDK and Emulator System Image.
5. The minimum Screen Resolution for Android Studio is 1280×800.
c) Linux OS Requirement
1. For KDE desktops or GENOME
2. Minimum RAM which is required for Android Studio is 3GB and the recommended RAM for Android Studio is 8GB and additional 1GB for the Android Emulator.
3. Minimum 2GB of disk space should be available.
4. And the recommended disk space for Android Studio is 4GB in which 500MB is for IDE and 1.5GB is for Android SDK and Emulator System Image.
5. The minimum Screen Resolution for Android Studio is 1280×800.
6. The 64-bit distribution must be capable of running 32-bit applications with GNU C library 2.19 or later.
LANGUAGES USED TO WORK IN ANDROID STUDIO.
- There are 2 languages which are used to work in Android Studio which is JAVA and KOTLIN out of which JAVA is used the most and almost all the applications are developed using the language JAVA.
